WELCOME CENTRE,
ROCKINGHAM MOTOR SPEEDWAY

The project was to create a new
conference and welcome centre and also increase the retail facilities at
Rockingham Motor Speedway as well as incorporating additional welfare
facilities for the complex. |

The whole building was created on a very confined site that was part of the
open concourse under the existing grandstand. The 700m² building has as its
primary user BMW whose specific requirements were incorporated into the design.
These include the ability to sub-divide the area into three separate rooms using
folding acoustic partitions. The ‘state of the art’ infrastructure includes
advanced technology for the lighting gantries for audio/visual presentations
which also include electric blinds to provide full blackout facilities.
