The Rockingham international banked oval racing circuit
that includes an internal road circuit was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen
on 28 June 2001. The UK’s inaugural Champ Car Race was televised
from Rockingham in September 2001.
The development
includes a 280m long main stand with 50 hospitality suites, restaurant and
conference facility, a 36 pit garage building, race school, medical centre and
administration buildings.
NTN also provided project management services to
Rockingham. Duties included identifying and developing the Client’s brief on a
fast track programme to realise the overall project objectives, evaluating
programmes and tenders, and thereafter the construction operation itself.
