Phase 2 of the College’s expansion involved the £1 million extension of the
existing Learning Resource Centre into the adjacent listed 14th
century timber framed barns. The project included the removal of the modern
internal partitioning to expose the original 14th and 18th
century timber frame structure. Careful repairs and renovations were made to
the timber frames in line with the buildings listed status. In conjunction
the existing LRC building was linked to the Barn with a concrete framed
structure with a structural glass envelope. |

The completed building is
home to the College’s new book shop, cyber cafe and virtual reality display
area. The project was managed on a trade contractor basis by the Client.
