OAKGROVE SECONDARY SCHOOL

Entrance to School

The Oakgrove Millennium Community in Milton Keynes is developed on a brown field site to the east of the area and includes 1,850 houses as well as the secondary school that will ultimately provide 1,500 places for local children. The initial development of approximately 5,600m2 accommodates the first 300 pupils.

Front Elevation of School

The inter-linked buildings provide a single-storey sports hall with viewing gallery, a single-storey community facility comprising a hall, changing rooms and storage areas. The two three-storey blocks provide the main reception area, fitness suite and squash courts as well as teaching areas in one building, and the second houses staff areas on the ground floor, laboratories and teaching areas on the upper floors. Constructed on piled foundations with beam and block suspended ground floor slabs, steel frame and precast concrete suspended floor slabs the buildings are constructed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
